Perhaps no wine is as quintessentially West Australian as Semillon Sauvignon Blanc. This blend is described by James Halliday in his 2009 Wine Companion as "Classic Margaret River style". Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is described as melon, pineapple and citrus combine to produce a full taste sensation.

Pinot Gris and Pinot Grigio; two names but one variety (the grey grape) that produces wines of freshness and texture, perfect for many food matches. Grigio is traditionally crisp, light, minerally and dry with the Gris showing greater richness, texture and can show quite honeyed characters over time. Ideal for summer drinking.

The Chardonnay grape variety is a classic white wine grape grown all around the world. The original fame of Chardonnay comes from it's success in the Burgundy and Champagne regions of France. It delivers soft, fruity, flavourful wine with attractive pear, melon and apple flavours.

Pinot Noir found its fame in the Burgundy region of France where it is the primary grape used for red wines. This elegant, understated wine has complex, full, cherry and strawberry flavours and velvet richness, joined by a host of extraordinary savoury and earthy aromas.

The Cabernet Merlot blend originated in Bordeaux, France and delivers the flavour and structure of Cabernet and the palate richness of Merlot. The Cabernet Shiraz blend however is pretty close to the quintessential Aussie blend, rich, powerful with bold flavours and texture.

Merlot is one of the great wine grapes of the world and is used to make many of the world's greatest wines. Is a medium acid wine that is soft and mild and is easy to drink when it is young. Colour can range dark to light red. A great blender for the stronger flavored high acid and high tannin varieties.

When you think of the finest red wines in the world, you often are thinking of wines made with Cabernet Sauvignon. With its remarkable concentration of tannins, pigments and flavour pigments it will produce deeply colored rigorous wines whose bouquet will only improve with age.

Often called Australia's quintessential grape variety, in cooler climates shiraz tends to medium-bodied with red berry, black cherry, pepper and spice flavours. In warmer climes, this variety is more full-bodied, with blackberry, chocolate and stewed-plum characteristics.

This grape makes a range of styles from light and delicate to full-bodied, tangy wines that can be dry and toasty if aged in oak barrels, or lusciously sweet.
